A review of Ri Ra, inside Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino

Often you hear that when you come to Las Vegas, you can find a little bit of the world. This is not only true of the hotels and casinos that populate the Las Vegas Strip, but the restaurants as well. Ri Ra, an Irish pub located inside Mandalay Place, brings a little bit of Irish flair to the city. Mandalay Place is the sky bridge that connects Mandalay Bay and the Luxor. Surrounded by art galleries, retail stores, and other restaurants, Ri Ra is one of the few places that offers live music.

Restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip can be expensive; Ri Ra definitely is not. Most of the plates will average between $11 - $15.00, and an individual beer won't cost you more than ten dollars. The service is great, and some of the wait staff will greet you in an Irish accent. Whether the accents are authentic is another story. On top of their traditional Irish dishes like corned beef & cabbage or bangers & smash, their menu also includes standard fare such as bagels, pancakes, and burgers. Their kid's menu sticks to the traditional.

Perhaps the most impressive feature of Ri Ria is its alcohol selection. They have hundreds of beer, whiskey, wine and spirit options to choose from. If you find yourself unable to choose, the wait staff is knowledgeable and can help you decide. The beers are affordable, and even most of the whiskey options are also. If you feel like treating yourself, you can opt for the Knappogue Castle ($350.00), the Telling 21-Year Old Single Malt Reserve ($80.00), or the Jameson 18-Year Old Singe Malt ($89.00). Ri Ra also has whiskey options from around the world including: Crown Royal, Seagrams, Wild Turkey, Bastille and the Kavalan Classic.

Ri Ra open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
