Home > Review of Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip
If you're looking for an A-list location to stay while in Las Vegas, look no further than Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Nestled in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, Planet Hollywood has quickly become one of the most well-known and most exciting resort hotels in Vegas and is known for its entertainment both on the casino floor and in it's venues to artists such as Britney Spears.
History - Planet Hollywood was previously known as Tally Ho in the 1960s. It was later renamed King's Crown, and had its longest run as the Aladdin Resort & Casino.
The Tally Ho was originally opened in 1963, and it was known as The King's Crown shortly thereafter. Although the hotel failed, it was quickly purchased by Milton Prell, who revitalized the site and crowned it as The Aladdin.
The Aladdin featured the historic 500-seat Bagdad Theater, where world-famous entertainers performed their showcases. The Aladdin was characterized by its signature towering "Aladdin's Lamp" sign, and guests were showered with rose petals upon arrival. The Aladdin enjoyed a successful 40-year run as one of the most popular destinations in all of Vegas before the property was ultimately again purchased and Planet Hollywood was born.
Since its opening in 2007, Planet Hollywood has provided guests with celebrity-quality suites and rooms built for film buffs, as each features unique movie-themed decor and memorabilia.
Accommodation - Planet Hollywood Hotel offers 37 floors of stylish rooms that feature actual props and memorabilia from blockbuster films. Each room offers guests breathtaking views of the Las Vegas Strip, and oversized soaking tubs, cush seats and ambient lighting curate an intimate mood. The top two floors of the Hotel are for VIP only, but it's rumored the VIP suites offer private bowling alleys, in-room theaters, and a host of other exclusive amenities that make for a truly tantalizing experience!
Casino - Planet Hollywood's lively casino offers guest non-stop stimulation. Go-Go Dancers and upbeat music cultivate its high-energy environment, while the casino's high-rolling gaming tables and slot machines round out the richly active atmosphere.
Entertainment - One of Planet Hollywood's most exciting offerings is its lively nightly entertainment: amazingly popular acts such as JLo and Britney (and the Back Street Boys, alright!) electrifying music and dance clubs offer visitors constant kinetic energy, while its "Sin City Comedy" showcase features top comedians who are often featured on Comedy Central and HBO.
Planet Hollywood also promotes a racy burlesque act, and glitzy, celebrity-hosted parties. With so many entertainment offerings, it's no wonder this hotel is a notorious and popular place.
Planet Hollywood Casino and Hotel is a five-star hotel anchored on Las Vegas Blvd. Having approx. 2,600 rooms, it's known to be one of Las Vegas' biggest hotels and Planet Hollywood is an extraordinary place for entertainment options - and there is a decent-sized, fun-filled, party-atmosphere casino here. Highly recommended.
Restaurants - The five-star quality experience at Planet Hollywood doesn't stop at the Casino and Guest rooms - the Hotel is known worldwide for its eclectic, choice restaurants. Celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsey's residency at Planet Hollywood offers guests outrageously delicious burgers that boast creativity and unparalleled flavor, and dining there is a must for any food fan. Be sure to visit the iconic Pink's Hot Dogs, a Hollywood landmark; the Las Vegas location is open late and offers outdoor seating where you can dine and watch the lively nighttime activity on the strip!
Burgers and Hot Dogs not your style? No problem: Planet Hollywood has it all at its award-winning Spice Market Buffet, where you can choose from Mexican, Asian, Italian, or American. You can also grab a quick bite at the 24-hour Earl of Sandwich if you need a late-night filling.
Shopping, Spa, & More - Planet Hollywood is home to the Miracle Mile - more than 170 specialty stores and international retailers, and features one-of-a-kind boutique shops and accessory vendors.
We consider Planet Hollywood to be one of the best Las Vegas hotels to meet singles in.
Take a dip in one of Planet Hollywood's glamorous swimming pools where you can also enjoy private cabanas, poolside drink service, and outdoor daybeds before the bikini contest begins! Make the most of your stay with a relaxing massage at Planet Hollywood's Mandara Spa, which offers body and facial treatments in an exotic atmosphere. Hair and nail services round-out its bouquet of offerings.
